Chapter 32

With an anguished heart, Franni placed Jake beside Ariel's corpse. Her eyes were protruding from the tears.

Beside her stood Alpha Thane and Dan. Their eyes were red from sobbing, and their heads hung down in grief.

Franni squatted low beside the two corpses, tears falling freely from her eyes.

With the little time she spent with them, they had grown fond of each other, and Franni felt as if a part of her had been taken away.

Possibly, if she hadn't run into them in the woods; Maybe they might still be alive.

Even though Franni knew there was no way she could have gotten this far without their help, she was grateful for that.

She shook her head in dejection.

She couldn't let their extinction go in vain; she wouldn't let their repudiation go for anything without accomplishing her primary objective.
