Chapter 97. The Battlefield
Soon, Theo and his division arrived at the battlefield.
He stood tall at the front of his warriors, his calm gaze scanning the wide open terrain, shrouded in sunlight and thick tension. They had come just as planned, the first to arrive.
Across the field, Lila stood with her army, her dark robes flowing in the wind. She watched Theo carefully, her eyes narrowed. Minutes passed, and when no other divisions appeared behind him, her lips curled into a wicked grin.
Then, she threw her head back and let out a loud, mocking laugh.
Her army followed, their jeers and cruel laughter rising into the night like a chorus of jackals. Lila pointed at Theo from across the field, her voice sharp and taunting.
“So this is it?” she scoffed. “One loyal puppy from the mighty Alpha Damian? I expected more—maybe a little entertainment before I cut your head off. But this? This is disappointing.”
Theo didn’t flinch. His face was unreadable, his voice quiet but firm.
