He opened the door and went in, as his housekeeper bowed.

He nodded at the woman, and headed upstairs.

“I thought they would stop calling by now.” He said, wiping sweat off his face with the hand towel.

“They said it’s about your wife.”

He stopped.

“She is still at the hospital?” He asked surprised.

She had gone there a month ago. Was she purposely trying to stay back so she would not return to Tourris?

That was something a clever, deceitful woman like her would do. A hospital was not complete freedom, but it was still not the horrible place he heard Tourris was.

“Next time they call, forward it to me.”

He took the airpods out of his ears and went into the shower.
