"That’s really ungrateful, isn’t it?”
Griffon turned around, his cold, snow-like eyes darkening when he saw the man with one hand i his pocket and a cigarette in his mouth. “Herb Carmine!”
Herb raised his chin, his elegant thin lips curling up slightly with a hint of sarcasm. “You actually remember me, that’s quite impressive.”
Griffon grabbed Taya’s hand and instinctively used a bit of force. “Did he save you?”
Taya nodded. “Yes, he saved me. What’s wrong?”
Griffon pursed his lips, wanting to say something but ultimately shook his head. He moved his gaze away from Taya and looked at Herb. “Consider me owing you a favor.”
Herb took the cigarette out of his mouth, threw it on the ground, and stamped it out with his foot before smiling at Griffon. He didn’t say anything, his blue-black eyes flickering with a disdainful gaze that swept over Taya before he turned and left.
