Harper didn’t answer Preston’s question, but continued:
“As you heard, I will be meeting his parents soon, and after that, we will discuss mating.”
“Jayden and I are getting mated. It’s not appropriate for us to keep meeting like this. So, in the future, please avoid me when you see me.”
He curled his fingers on his knees, and when his fingertips rubbed against the skin of his palms, even the flesh hurt.
“You know that tonight Jayden provoked me first. He mocked me first. He did it just because I beat him up last time, and he still held a grudge. Can’t you see what kind of person he is, doing this in front of so many people?”
She could say that Jayden was an honest doctor, but the premise was that he was also a flawed man. How could she judge a person based on just one side?
