Chapter 89. Unseen Rivalry
While Taya was hugging her legs and leaning against the headboard in a daze, bright headlights hit the floor-to-ceiling glass. Then, the sound of wheels rolling on the ground came from downstairs, and a luxury car stopped at the villa’s gate.
A pack guard holding an umbrella opened the rear door, and a tall man slowly got out of the car. He tore off the tie around his neck with one hand and ordered coldly, “Don’t let him in.”
The pack guard replied with a “yes.” After walking the man to the door, he turned around and walked toward the iron gate outside the garden.
Taya stood before the French window and followed the pack guard’s line of sight. From a distance, she saw a man outside the iron gale. She was too far away and it was raining heavily, so she couldn’t see the man’s face clearly and didn’t care much about him.
Withdrawing her gaze, she struggled to walk down the stairs with the help of the wall.
