The door opened, and she walked in. The intern followed closely behind her, holding her hand, and then departed the moment my eyes lingered.

He walked away from her side to stand beside his team manager. My fingers curled into my palm as I watched her approach. She leaned toward me slightly, her voice a soft whisper.
