Chapter 149. Nice Buns

Amelie’s POV

I had the best sleep ever in our bed as a married couple. It makes me giddy just thinking that is the way it is now. I feel like I need to pinch myself to see if it’s real. Unfortunately, the alarm clock that rang bright and early due to our early flight time proved to me I wasn’t dreaming. In fact, it wasn’t even bright. It felt like the middle of the night because the sun wasn't up yet.

Nathan’s arms weren’t around me when I woke up. The room was still dark. I got up and headed to the bathroom. He wasn’t in there either. He must have gotten up early to finish some work in the den, I thought to myself. I hopped in the shower and then got dressed in a sundress and some wedge sandals. The only clue Nathan had given me the night before was to dress for comfort and a warm destination. Hence, the sundress in New York, in the middle of winter.
