I’m so glad that the surprise of our friends flying in is making Amelie so happy. She hadn’t stopped smiling. Sometimes I forget how different our upbringings were. Amelie told me that Tiff was her only friend. It’s so sad because the world deserves to know her. She truly is an earth angel, and I have to pinch myself daily to make sure I’m not dreaming that she is mine.

“I am so full,” Amelie grumbled. “I think I ate two pounds of pineapple. Ugh.”

“Great to hear,” I whispered in her ear. “I get to lick up pineapple juices.”

“Nathan!” Amelie whispered back. “You dirty boy!”
