Chapter 39. First Flight

Nathan’s POV

I had to admit I missed Amelie. I haven’t seen her in two days. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Samuel and I flew out to Seattle to finalize the three acquisitions. To our surprise, on Wednesday, before we left, we secured two more financial companies that had approached us for mergers. It was a successful trip all around.

Amelie had thrown herself into studying for her finals as soon as we got home Monday evening from the hospital. We had been texting back and forth for a couple of days, and I found it so easy to talk to her, whether by phone or text. There was never an awkward pause in the conversation.

Zander continued to improve at a rapid pace. Dr. Carrera had said that because he was a top-tier athlete, his recovery would be quick. They did, however, want to keep him in the hospital for one to two weeks to make sure everything was go
