Cheryl’s anger flushed her face red like a tomato, her lips bitten until they turned crimson. Her words choked in her throat as she stood next to Lani.
Lani’s eloquence and fast-paced speech dominated her, which Cheryl found unacceptable.
She could accept losing too many people.
But she couldn’t bear losing to someone she despised, especially not to be overshadowed by Lani and Aurora.
Cheryl directed her rage towards the staff.
“Do you see your customer being scolded and not defending me? Or is it because you see Lani as famous, so you protect her?”
Cheryl wanted to vent her anger on the staff to regain a sense of superiority after being scolded by Lani.
The store’s staff not being as prestigious as her, and they feared she might complain to their manager. Cheryl thought she could freely scold without fear of contradiction.
However, the staff were fans of Lani and wouldn’t allow anyone to bully or insult her.
