Chapter 29
“Sweetheart. Are you okay?" Nadia asked Stacy in concern, after she had noticed and studied her countenance for many minutes, and figured out that something was deeply wrong with her.
It was a bright Saturday morning and they both didn't go to work, so they decided to do whatever cleaning needed to be done in the house. Yet, Stacy didn't cheer up even with all the jokes that she had been telling her.
"I am just stressed out. I've got a lot of things on my mind," she answered tiredly, trying to force a smile as she trimmed the flowers that were planted and neatly arranged on the extended balcony in the living room.
The weight of her disturbing thoughts from the conversation she had with Carlton the previous day, suffocated her so much that she was unable to sleep even if she tried.
