Rose was delighted that Larry had decided to return. She had admitted to herself that the only reason she was with Larry was that he fulfils her bodily needs and pays her a handsome salary but sometimes found him very boring.

Whenever he came to Blackpool she wasn't allowed out much and she could not invite anyone to the house. She had to bear the unnerving pair of his black eyes following her everywhere.
