Chapter 10. Don’t Say Anything

Roman’s POV

I nodded at Nathan as he flung the car door open, stepping inside and relaxing against the leather seat. Afterward, I retrieved my iPad from my briefcase and ran through my schedule for the day, even though Nathan had already briefed me on it. I sighed as a barrage of unbridled thoughts assailed my mind.

What the hell had I done? Was I even in the right state of mind? I had picked up a random stranger from a club, fucked her, and as if that wasn't enough, I had paid her to help me lie to my grandmother. I scoffed inwardly, shaking my head at my absolute idiocy.

Well, it couldn’t be helped now. I just had to hope I hadn't mistakenly brought a serial killer into my house to pose as my fiancée. Almost as soon as the thought crossed my mind, guilt washed over me. I thought back to Sofie. The vulnerable girl I had met at the bar didn't see
