Roman’s POV
“I don’t know anymore, Damien. I honestly don’t know what to do. No matter what angle I try to view it from, it just doesn’t seem right,” I rambled as the waitress placed a bottle of whiskey on the table.
For some unknown reason, I felt guilty about doing something I couldn’t even define. That irritating feeling bloomed within me the exact moment I dropped Sofie off at the house and caught a fleeting glimpse of her glassy eyes, brimming with suppressed tears. No matter how much alcohol I consumed, I just couldn’t shake that image from my mind. It made my heart awfully heavy.
