"Good morning, Sof." Katie grinned as I plopped down beside her and set my tote bag on the table.

I mirrored her grin, "Morning, Katie." 

"So, I heard something. Apparently, that bastard Cornelius is quitting. I was so shocked when my boyfriend gave me the news, I mean, what could have pushed him to do that?" 

I feigned cluelessness as I brought out my writing paraphernalia, "Right, but isn't that good news? I mean, a sex offender who clearly shouldn't be loitering around and molesting women is going far away from us."
