Chapter 42. Whirlwind of Emotions
Roman’s POV
I sighed to myself as I scrolled through the messages Sofie and I had exchanged moments ago. I wondered whether she was really doing as well as she claimed or just lying to me. I had seen how pale and weak she looked before we left the house. I didn’t want us to argue in Nathan’s presence, so I just decided to let her go to her classes. She hadn’t eaten anything for breakfast, and when I tried to get her to eat something, she got mad at me and asked if my purpose in life was always to nag her. I really didn’t understand the sort of flu Sofie had that made her so tetchy. I guessed I’d have to wait a while before asking her out on a date lest she snap at me.
There was a knock on the door, which made me set my phone aside. “Come in,” I muttered, and one of my female employees walked in with a pile of paperwork in her hands.
