The conversation that had just transpired between Sofie and me felt surreal—in a very horrible way. I couldn’t believe everything she had said. I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that she was trying to figure out my own feelings for me. I mean, I didn’t expect her to grant me her forgiveness and take me back with open arms when I confessed my feelings to her, but I wasn’t expecting her to tell me to my face that she couldn’t reciprocate my feelings either.
