Lily bit her lips nervously and pretended not to hear anything. She took out her work uniform from the locker and was about to go into the bathroom to change when one of them grabbed her hand and stopped her.

“I don’t know what Dr Martinez sees in you, to be honest. I can bet he’s just messing with you since you are so cheap.” The same girl said, trying to get a response from Lily.

“You can’t even deny the accusations. They must be true then.” Another said and they all laughed.

“Can I go now?” Lily said and pulled her hand away before walking away. She owed them no explanation and she wasn’t going to entertain them either. She and Tony knew the truth and that was all that mattered.

The nurses laughed at her behavior and walked away. They were convinced that she was being that way because of her relationship with the CEO.
