Chapter 66

Trying to open her still sticky eyes, Sherena blinked a few times to chase away the drowsiness that lingered after their passionate encounter with her husband.

"Husband?" Sherena immediately reached for the space next to her and flinched when she didn't find Edrik there. He should still be there after their lovemaking earlier.

Blushing at the memory of what she and Edrik had just shared for the third time, Sherena smiled. This time they had truly merged, hoping for a child to grow in her womb.

Sherena gently caressed her flat stomach, her hopes and wishes swelling inside her. She also remembered her father's longing for a grandchild.

"Where is Edrik?"

Sherena's gaze scanned every corner of the minimalist room. There was nothing special there, just a bed, a small bookshelf, a nightstand, and the wall clock. And of course, the bathroom.

Still sitting on the bed with the blanket draped over her shoulders, Sherena reached for the wardrobe at the end of the b
