As soon as Mel reached the coffee shop, she turned around to see if the woman had followed her there, but thankfully she was out of sight

Feeling a sense of relief flood over her. She quickly made her way inside the shop, the scent of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air. Letting out a deep sigh, she pulled out her phone and dialed Maya's number.

"Hey, Maya You won't believe what just happened to me," she said as soon as her friend answered.

"What? Did you finally get on the CEO's good side?" Maya laughed

"No, it's not that," Mel said, her voice shaking slightly as she recounted the encounter with the mysterious woman.

Maya listened intently, her laughter fading as Mel described the fear and uncertainty she had felt.

"Oh my word, that's so creepy," Maya said, her voice full of concern. "Are you okay? Do you want me to come and meet you?"

"No, I'm fine, I'm sitting in a coffee shop right now, Mel said, trying to sound more confident
