Emmeline’s breath escaped her lungs in a tremulous rush. She lifted her hands to cradle his face, sinking into the blazing depths of his fathomless stare. “You’re the only man for me, Mr. Blackthorn,” her voice came out in a hushed, fervent murmur. “My husband is nothing more than a regrettable mistake that will never be repeated.”
