“They’re outside with their dad. Instead of sitting around doing nothing, he should put that endless energy into watching them, obviously.” Minnie replied without looking up from her focused chopping.

Emmeline laughed at Minnie’s no-nonsense way of speaking and amusedly shook her head.

She looked over at the elegant lady, who was cutting a head of crisp green lettuce with such skill, “Do you work as well, Yuna? Or do you have staff that handles everything for you?”

Yuna arched a sculpted eyebrow as she continued prepping the salad ingredients. “I’ve been a lawyer for ten years. I once ran my own private practice before moving to the prestigious legal agency owned by my husband.”

A judge and a high-powered lawyer, Emmeline realized with an inward whistle.

What a power couple! She couldn’t help feeling a bit inadequate in comparison.

“Emmeline is a chef too, you know. She works at her family’s restaurant.” Minnie spoke again before she could respond
