Zaylien plopped onto his bed, the mattress sinking under his weight as he leaned back against the headboard. His iPad screen glowed in the dim light of his room, lines of information scrolling down. The more he read, the wider his grin grew, until it broke into a sharp and humorless laugh.

He swiped his thumb across the screen, pausing at a section, rereading it, shaking his head. Unbelievable.

He grabbed his phone from the nightstand and pressed a familiar number. The line barely rang once before it connected.

“Zay?” Arden’s voice came through, low and steady. “Why are you calling this late? What’s going on?”

Zaylien smirked, tapping the corner of the iPad with his finger. “I got what I needed.”

“What do you mean you got what you needed?” Arden asked, sounding confused.

“I mean,” Zaylien said slowly, savoring the words, “I have their information. All of it. The bullies. Every single detail I need to know about them.”
