Alexi sighs loudly, and I glance his way to see him turn and butt himself against the table, throwing me an unreadable look before he downs another drink, and I try not to count how many that is. By the looks of his sudden lack of trying, I guess he has been prone to scenes like this before, where his father had to steamroll in to defend him, and Alexi mentally goes off on a cruise and leaves him to it.
