Kate, after crying her eyes out for two days and pondering on the word mate she decided to search up the word on the internet.

It gave her different results, making her more confused. ‘A mate means sexual partners of animals?’ She read. Why did Isaac say that I am his mate? What does it mean? Does it mean we are told to be mated? Are we meant to be together? But he wanted to kill me.

Kate recalled when Isaac grabbed her by the neck and started choking her. She saw his eye’s color change, but she wasn’t so sure of it. She thought she imagined things, or she was already dying.

She has been dialing his line since he left angrily, but she wasn’t reaching him. It made her more heartbroken. Then she thought of Serena and got angry.
