The woman’s next reaction was dropping the small board in her hands and looking at her with horror-filled eyes.
“W-Who are you?” She stammered.
Lucy was relieved that the woman did not scream but she was also apprehensive.
“Wait.” The woman gasped again and continued. “A-Are you an angel?” Her hand flew to her chest and she quickly took a step back while shaking her head rapidly.
“N-No please. I’m not ready to die. Don’t take my life now. I-I have children to feed and a family to take care off. If you leave me now, I swear I’ll…”
She kept on mumbling and Lucy would have laughed if it was on a normal day. But her prank days were over. She very well knew that.
“I’m not an Angel, Ma’am… I-I am here to get some clothes,” she finally said.
The woman stopped walking back and narrowed her eyes. “Really?”
“Yes.” Lucy nodded. Then she did the stupidest thing she would ever think of. She pinched herself and she winced.
