Chapter 48. You Shall Not Call My Child a Bastard

“He’s here already?” Madison asked, gathering and prepping herself to meet her boss. She looked calm and collected but internally, she was nervous.

“He arrived earlier than everyone else and his mood is terrible. I don’t know who offended him,” the receptionist replied. Ezrah never smiled much but today was different. Everyone was walking on egg shells.

Madison could not believe that her little lie aggravated his anger to this level. “Thanks for the heads up,” she smiled tightly, dropped her hand bag at her desk before ambling to Ezrah’s office.

When she entered the office, she tensed up. Ezrah looked as if he had not slept in days. Those dark circles were terrible and though elegantly dressed, it was obvious that something was bugging him.

“Sir, good morning.”

“You’ve been in cahoots with Zora,” Ezrah said directly before beckoning to the chair in front of him. After Madison sat, she responded with honesty.

“She’s a good friend but you are my bos
