Ezrah was even more upset. “How many madams have ever been in this house except my wife?”

The butler smiled, as if recalling something. “Oh, Mrs. Gannon of blessed memory. She…”

“Stop saying that. She’s not dead,” Ezrah quickly cut him off. The butler was puzzled. Ezrah never mentioned Zora after her death, but everybody knew how it affected him, including his sleep.

Also, he never brought any woman here. The butler wanted to remind him that Zora was no longer alive. “Sir…”

“She’s alive,” Ezrah quickly said, knowing exactly what was on his mind. Not just the butler, but the maids cleaning the house were also shocked as Ezrah explained. “Her death was faked, so what does she like?” He asked.

The butler thought for a while and revealed, “Honestly, sir, I don’t know what she likes. I only bought her gifts that my wife liked, and she always seemed happy. I can’t tell if she really liked them or if it was all because she thought they were from you.”
