Chapter 72. Dad, I Have to See My Child
Charity was depressed after Louisa ended the call on her. “What happened? Why are you moody?”
“Let’s go and pick up Piper, but Louisa broke all ties with us. Was I vile for wanting our daughter’s freedom?” She sobbed. Her husband was heartbroken, knowing their business was going to suffer.
Unable to comfort his wife as he drove in the direction she said, he responded callously.
“You are not vile for wanting our daughter’s freedom. What made you vile was faking sickness and asking for your kidney back. I told you to let me handle it.”
He sounded upset. How could Charity have chosen a useless daughter over their business? How were they going to survive?
Charity was shrouded in guilt, only sobbing but not saying anymore and yet, not getting her husband’s pity like before.
