She thought that her death was coming. It was inevitable, don't they say that none of us will leave this world alive? Yet for my part I intend to leave the biggest and most beautiful footprint I can. Maybe this ancient memory will be right next to mine, that it is together we walk, together we leave a path to guide future generations. She pondered to herself.
But it had felt to her as if she lived in a world that was unnatural. It made her long for an impossible purity of being. These malevolent gods made her wonder if there was a good and loving divinity anywhere on earth. Or was existence just a brutal form of suffering until one died and entered the oblivion of the Underworld?
She no longer had the luxury of thinking such self-reflective ideas. They'd be all over in no time. The priests escorted the dark-robed ladies, who were followed by the rest of the community, out through the tunnel and into the valley's huge stone triangle construction.
