Epilogue

Before he met and fell in love with Scarlet Dimitri, a vampire, Thunder Wood was a lone wolf who roamed the forest by himself. Scarlet was a vampire. They were able to overcome the obstacles presented by their dissimilar personalities and build a life together, but then calamity befell them. He was successful, and the child did well, but Scarlett did not return from the afterlife; she remained in the state of limbo that she had been in when she died.

Thunder spent the first month after Scarlet's death living in a remote part of the forest with his newborn son. He lamented Scarlet's death and took care of her body, which he kept preserved through the use of magic and love.

As he gently wiped her pale face with a damp cloth, Thunder murmured, "Scarlet, my love, I miss you so badly." Scarlet's face was pale because of the absence of Thunder.
