Chapter 133. You Have My Word

I woke up desperately needing the bathroom and rolled out of the bed, trying not to wake Mathias. It wasn't until I was standing that I noticed he wasn't there, his scent was still strong so he hadn't been out of bed long.

I went to the bathroom and when I came out, instead of going back to bed I left the room in search of my mate. I followed his scent downstairs and into the kitchen, but he wasn't there. I tried to mind-link him but his block was up. He obviously didn't want me to know what he was doing.

I chuckled to myself because there was no way he could hide from me. Whatever he was up to, I was about to find out. He had been slightly cold since we had come back to the Clan Mansion, even toward me, I knew he had a lot on his mind as we all did, but it was no excuse for him to take out his frustrations on me or ignore me.
