After that unfortunate incident in the music room, many began to wonder what had happened to the Baroness of the East's son and why he no longer appeared at any of the social events where he used to show his face.
Young ladies who had hopes of marrying him lamented, close friends incessantly asked anyone they could if he had been seen anywhere, and the family... they were the most annoying of all.
