“Uhm, I’m sorry. It did not occur to me that you would be coming out at the same time I was about to come in,” Mia apologized, as she took a step back from Alex.
Nobody asked her that, who asked her to speak? Alex asked himself.
“Move aside,” he said, and Mia moved away as she tucked wayward strands of her hair behind her ear.
Alex walked past her and so did Hendrix. “Where are you heading to?” Mia asked him, but he ignored her.
She stood by the door. “You should be telling me things, you know? We’re a team,” she said after him, but Alex did not flinch a bit. He did not even give her a second glance, as he and Hendrix walked towards the direction of the river.
Mia huffed. “Why does he have to be so quiet?” She wondered out loud.
Just then, David, the stable man walked by. “Good evening, Luna,” he greeted.
“Good evening, David,” she greeted back with an enthusiastic smile. “How do you do?” She asked him.
