Calisto had given in too easily, it was so easy that I wondered if something could be wrong.
I realized he’s not smart enough for that.
I sighed.
Now I would just have to approach the saint and take her to my tower, was far enough from the empire that I could study decently without the intrusion or annoying energy of those angels.
"Why did you leave before the king?" Anneliese questioned me with a glare and I stared at her with an raised eyebrow.
"Because I have legs," I replied snapping my tongue at the roof of my mouth.
Anneliese took rules very seriously, but especially on those days when we stayed at Callisto’s palace - her habit of reprimanding me for disrespecting the king, seemed to get worse.
I took a deep breath.
I did not pretend to be a serious person or asshole, apart from the simple fact that I needed the king’s permission to collect new species... I really was above all else, above the empire
