Henrietta rushed in. Simon had gone to stay with the kid so she could join them. Alade Babalola said hurriedly that he would join Simon to monitor the children, as they might be too exuberant for him to handle alone. He rushed out before anyone could reply to him, and Helen shook her head, saying that he had never been able to stomach experiencing childbirth firsthand.
“When I gave birth to Bernard, he was more nervous than me because I wanted to give birth. The midwife had to tell him to go wait outside. He proved a strong man and stayed only to rush out just as the baby’s head showed. He was sick for a week after that. I had no idea who took care of who that first week,” Helen laughed, and they all joined in as they surrounded Marissa.
