Belle’s POV

“See you tomorrow,” Audrey said as soon as we got out of her car.

“Thank you for coming with us,” I say as I turn my back on Zeke and walk into the house.

“Belle, hold on a sec, I have something I want to ask you,” he said, taking my hand in his.

“Can you tell me what it is?” I asked. Despite my surprise, I kept a smile on my face.

“I don’t know how well we’re doing...Do you think we’d be together if the curse was lifted?” Zeke was dead serious when he asked the question. And I was rendered speechless as a result of my surprise at his question. While examining my own heart, I looked Zeke in the eyes.

“I’m trying to figure this out because I’m sure something is wrong and something is missing. But I just want to know because I have the impression that something is changing,” Zeke says, staring me down.
