Chapter 42. The First Night

Ashley’s POV

We have been dancing for hours yet my body does not want to let go, I love the feel of his strong arms wrap around me like steel yet it doesn’t hurt. As we both sway into the dancing tune of the music playing in the air I can feel my spirits lifted high. My heart is beating so fast and my skin feels hot. The butterflies in my stomach are moving around and giving me the feeling of overjoy flowing throughout my veins. The happiest day of my life for as long as I could remember.

“Forgive me Ash, you must be tired now as we have been dancing for hours.”

He lowered his head beside my ear and whispered softly, with his breathing tickling the tiny hairs in my neck. I wanted to tell him that it is alright I am enjoying our dance and I don’t feel tired but I thought maybe he is the one who is exhausted by leading the dance and holding me.

“We can take a break, it must be tiring to dance with someone who can’t sway to the music on his own.”
