Chapter 48. An Alpha’s Task

Carmela’s POV

The inescapable moment that I’ve been dreading for finally came. It was already dawn but both of us are still awake.

An odd timing for his departure.

“Is it really the right time for heading out in the woods?” I asked after a deep sigh escaped my lips… my throat hurts from tightening as I am trying to stop myself from crying.
