Chapter 25
When Jonathan finally released her, Adela looked at him coldly, feeling humiliated.
"Do you think just because you saved me, I owe you and have to put up with whatever you want?"
Jonathan hurriedly tried to explain: "I didn't mean it that way!"
"Then what did you mean?!" Adela’s eyes were filled with anger and hurt, feeling as if Jonathan was demeaning her.
It seemed Jonathan realized his behavior was too impulsive, and their relationship was not yet close enough to warrant such intimacy.
He meant to apologize, but his words came out differently.
"What I meant isn’t important, but I did save your life. Even if you don’t want to be polite to me, there’s no need for such a reaction, is there?"
Adela’s retort was laced with sarcasm: "So, do you need to book a hotel room and tell me to come there?"
