Chapter 77
Seris’s POV
I swung my blade in a wide arc and felt it slice through her side. Her shriek echoed in the room as she stumbled back. Before I could follow through, she kicked me in the gut with brutal force. I flew backward over shattered wood and splintered furniture, my knife clattering out of reach. Two rusted nails embedded themselves in my back, and I howled in agony as they dug deeper with every breath.
“I could end you right here!” she screamed, looming over me. Her knife hovered above my chest, ready to plunge down and finish me. Pain flooded my vision, but I refused to stay down. Concentrating, I reached out with my telekinesis and yanked two thick logs from the corner. They hurtled through the air and struck her so hard she pitched sideways and crashed to the floor.
I shoved myself upright, wrenching the nails free with a fresh stab of pain. Standing on unsteady legs, I gritted my teeth. Without my full powers, I was just human—a dangerously outmatch
