Chapter 112

Mercedes was asleep but she kept tossing and turning. She was having a dream. In the dream, she saw her baby crying. Horace was placed in an unfamiliar dark room by himself. He was sitting on the floor and crying his lungs out. Mercedes couldn't bare to hear him cry so she called out to him.

“Horace, my baby. Why are you crying? Mommy is here. Please don't cry.”

Her words never reached him. It didn't seem like she said anything to him since she just stood a few feet away from him and just stared without making an attempt to try and pacify him. She just stood there and watched her child cry without trying to help him. There was no expression on her face. It was as if she was not in control of her body. No matter how hard she tried, her body was not working. Her mind was screaming to go to her baby and hold him in her arms, but she continued to stand there and do nothing. It was frustrating for Mercedes. She stood there like a puppet and helplessly could not do anything.
