Blowing smoke towards the ceiling fans, I look at my Rolex and decided it was time to go home for the day.
Everything I needed to handle at the firm has been handled, and I longed for the comfort of my bed. I might grab a Heineken and crash on the couch in the den, in front of the 70-inch plasma 3D TV.
I should stay here and finish a few things for tomorrow, so when I came in I can just start my assembly line of business.
I was due in court in a few weeks for the start of a very big trial. I've been prepping for the trial with everything in me, since my wife, my better half, wasn't there to assist me any longer.
I had to learn to do things on my own. I was faced with trying to get a serial murderer convicted and sent to prison with the death penalty, and so far, since the arraignment a few weeks ago, the state of New York wanted a conviction, and society wanted him off the streets.
