Chapter 41
After days of hard work, the changes that Sofia wanted are finally finished. I’m still wondering why I paid an obscene amount of money to an interior designer if, later, my dear and beloved daughter was going to decide that we had to paint it and, worse, that we had to do it ourselves. But, well, that was all in the past. We were finally finished, in time for Christmas. Well, it was Christmas Eve dinner.
Everything is ready for that night. It’s our first Christmas Eve together in too long, and we’ve invited all our friends. It’s going to be a great party. We’ve even hired waiters to cater the party. The drinks, the food, everything is ready. The table is in place; they just need to set it up nicely for dinner. The whole house is decorated with hundreds of lights and garlands. It looks like a shopping mall. I wouldn’t be surprised if Santa Claus stopped by for the party. Sofia would certainly buy him a drink.
“David,” I call to the boy. “Is security ready for tomorrow?”
