Chapter 56
We were taken to the nearest police station. Between several guards, they grabbed me and my driver, who was RanRan. We rode together in the truck and went together to the infamous cell they put us in. It was tiny, the humidity was overwhelming, with water oozing down the walls and the smell indescribable. We sat where we were least disgusted and kept silent. Each of us minding our own business, I guess. I don’t know what RanRan was thinking at the time, but I was thinking about nonsense. I guess the normal thing is to think about things in life, what you’re going to miss, your mistakes. So, as if you were going to die imminently, but in my case, my head went in other directions and, honestly, almost better. I guess it was a way my mind was protecting me from everything. Not ten minutes had passed when a guard appeared. He stood in the doorway with a mean, and perhaps, a bit of a lecherous smile. I remember that I didn’t have a good feeling about him I was quite disgusted by the man.
