Diane’s POV

“I understand!” I said and she smiled and packed the remains away.

“You don’t understand me, you must have grown up with a loving parent er and been allowed to get married to your soul mate just like that,” she said and I chuckled.

“My mom died when I was just a child. My father loved her so much, so much and whenever he thought about me, he felt so sorry. It was not love that he kept showing me, it was pity. It does everything with the mindset of me not missing my mom’s presence. And he did it so much that not only do I miss my mom, I miss him also even when he was right there before me.

“He has changed, I miss the loving playful dad. Most times he makes me think he is not doing anything with pure intention. He did most with the fear of me breaking down and slowly, I was withdrawing from him. He thought I missed my mom and he thought it was a good idea to get a new wife who will be a mother to me. I am glad he thinks about me always but
