Hector made an attempt to stop his heart from racing and asked his wolf to calm down. It was all in the past after all and getting himself sick over it was not going to change what had already happened.
“You went out with them to a faraway place, disguised so that you are not recognized, I remember that,” Hector promoted when his father kept quiet for so long.
“Yes,” he said, like someone who was roused from sleep, his eyes looking haunted. He was reliving the nightmare that was his assignment to murder the only woman he had ever loved. “I was going to kill them and give them a decent burial but all of a sudden, there was a fog and I couldn’t see.
