Chapter 28. A Taste

The restaurant is brimming with frenzied activity today.
Cissy and I haven't been able to get a moment to catch up yet. Harad's interrogation continues to churn in my thoughts, as Cissy and I unintentionally disclosed more about our past than we intended. They were very inquisitive about what had happened, even hinted being obligated to report it to the King.
But we have little need for that.
Once we have delivered the box, we can find a pack and settle there permanently. Cissy is right, dwelling on what cannot be undone would only inflict wounds upon ourselves. No pack will want to accommodate us for fear of Crescent Moon. We may be forced to leave America for another remote pack in Latin America or Europe. I don't really like that idea, I want to stay here, where everything is familiar to me.
