“Baby, what would you like to drink?” he asks me. I shrug my shoulders; I don’t know what I want. I don’t know anything. “Make her the best virgin cocktail you have,” he says, not taking his eyes off me. I flush. The waitress leaves.

“No wine for me?” I pout, jesting. He narrows his blue gaze and shakes his head,

“No.”

“I’ve always wanted to taste wine,” I say nonchalantly. Nicholas cocks his head a little to the right. “Why?”

“I’m curious about its taste,” I murmur.

“Well, you are not allowed to,” he declares.
